While I can’t deny that the coffee and food here is fantastic, while I was waiting for my coffee a guy with his tumi luggage walked in, shortly followed by a girl with her “ludicrously capacious”fendi bag, which ought to tell you everything you need to know about the clientele, middle/upper-middle class urbanites who work on their 2.4K 16 inch MacBook Pro’s. (which was also present) All of this would be tolerable as well if the cafe was indeed cozy but the decor is barren, there is no cozy chair, couch or chaise lounge in sight and clickety clack of coffee making is an assault on all senses. It’s the poster child for gentrification. Neither upmarket enough that you feel it’s a place to be seen, nor homely enough that you want to loiter around, it’s tasteless, soulless and too loud. It’s for the WeWork crowd and their ilk to work on their online businesses sitting on uncomfortable picnic tables and benches. It remains preferable to pret but only by a slim margin, which is horrifying to think about an independent establishment. If only they would change the furniture, lighting, decor and music, it would be more welcoming, and perhaps attract a more diverse crowd.

Lovely baristas, amazing latte art on my hot chocolate. And my toasted sandwich was delicious. Super cozy place to relax!

We’ve become regulars here, and honestly, it’s one of the best cafés I’ve found in over thirty years in London. The coffee is consistently outstanding, the atmosphere is awesome and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely kind, nothing ever feels forced. It’s the kind of place where everyone, feels at home. Their sandwiches, cakes, and custard donuts are amazing too. The music is great, and even when it gets lively with families and kids over the weekend, it keeps that same lovely, welcoming energy! It truly has that lovely Italian vibe, where they know your name and your coffee order!
