Amazing food, great selection of drinks. Was nice to be served drinks on the terrace. Saves the time to be queuing on the bar. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that in a pub. This place has it all, thank you guys.

Just had our Christmas party. My turkey was wonderful, never had a better one. Soft, tender and full of flavour. Alban booked us an area in the bar for after dinner drinks, as we had a leaving party at the same time. Every year we have Christmas party, but this one, tops it all. Thank you so much Angel oak for an amazing time.

🚇 Peckham Rye 🍺 £6.90 Estrella Galacia The Angel Oak is located opposite the top end of Peckham Rye Park in Peckham, southeast London. The nearest station is Peckham Rye. This pub was built in the mid-19th century and was originally called The Rye Hotel, later becoming Rye House. In recent years, the pub was known simply as The Rye until it was refurbished and renamed The Angel Oak in 2021. This is a large, one-bar, multi-room pub with a contemporary feel. The main bar area is located at the front and features a centrally positioned servery. The bar area has high ceilings and mixed seating, including benches, booths, and traditional tables and chairs. To the back left of the servery is a dining area, which then leads to a huge beer garden at the rear. The decor consists of boarded floors, bold pastel painted walls, an eclectic mix of prints and artworks, a few large Tv’s, and modern light fixtures. The beer selection was solid and offered premium continental lagers and locally brewed craft beers. There were cask pumps, but they were not in use. I opted for an Estrella Galicia; my pint was great, price point was high. The food menu consists of pub classics — fish and chips cost £18, and roasts are available on Sundays. I arrived at 5pm on a mild Saturday afternoon in August. The pub was absolutely packed throughout, with a predominantly younger crowd. There was a real upbeat buzz about the place while the Leeds v Newcastle match was showing live on the projector screen. The service was good; I didn’t have to wait too long to be served, and the team were coping well under pressure. All told, this was an enjoyable pub visit — and it was great to see a pub so busy on a Saturday afternoon. My pint was spot on, the surroundings were comfortable, the beer garden was a big bonus, and the hospitality was pleasant. Be sure to check this one out if you’re in the area. We had our Christmas party in Angel Oak Peckham. Lovely staff, delicious food, could not have gone better. They even offered a space for us in the bar for after meal drinks. Great overall experience. Thank you Angel Oak for a fantastic and memorable evening.
