Hostile environment when i first came in no one greeted me or seemed welcoming. I booked with the hairstylist Shakira but come to find out she was not even the one who was going to be doing my hair as she doubled booked her self with another client. With another hairstylist i agreed on length i'd like and even demonstrated this but then when the appointment ends it is not the length i wanted and i expressed and she looked annoyed to fix this. She also spilt boiling hot water on me and didn't apologise. The salon was loud and the way employees acted having screaming matches was very unprofessional. Many people passed through the salon and some were ignored by employees. I will never go here again the environment was uncomfortable and unprofessional.

This Salon attached to others along Arina … My experience at Arina Hair Salon was extremely disappointing, and I feel it’s important to share—especially for young women and those with mixed heritage or softer natural hair. The stylist did my hairstyle much smaller than I asked for, claiming it was because I “had no hair.” This was completely untrue and unfair. I’m of mixed heritage and have soft hair that requires proper care and understanding—not judgment or excuses. It became clear that the salon may only be suitable for certain hair types, and the staff lacked the knowledge or experience to work with mine respectfully. The overall environment was uncomfortable. The staff were unprofessional and, at times, intimidating. As someone from an ethnic minority background, I expected to feel welcomed and understood—but instead, I felt dismissed and disrespected. Hair is personal, and it should be treated with skill, care, and dignity. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I left feeling disappointed and upset with the result, and I will never return. Please do your research and consider other salons that truly understand and celebrate all hair types—especially if you have natural, soft, or mixed-texture

My appointment was scheduled for 2 PM, but the hairdresser Regina arrived 30 minutes late. I had requested Fulani braids and sent a video of the style beforehand. We agreed on a price of £80, provided I supplied the hair. I brought two packs of Expression pre-stretched 1B and an additional pack of hair. However, before even seeing all the hair I brought, she was already convinced she couldn’t use anything other than what she preferred. This was never communicated to me prior to my appointment. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the length she was braiding, she became antagonistic and hostile towards me. I told her it wasn’t the same length as the reference video and style we agreed on and she kept telling me she didn’t want to see the video. I realised that she was rushing as she had another client booked for 4pm who was already waiting in the salon.. About 70% into the braiding process, she began questioning why I chose the style and claimed my hair was too short—even though she had already seen my hair beforehand and agreed to do it. In the end, I didn’t get the hairstyle I requested. Overall, this was the worst hair appointment I’ve ever had. While I’m sure the other stylists at the salon are lovely, I left feeling completely scammed and humiliated.
