Overpriced spa treatments- poor customer care I visited Bannatyne Orpington as a guest. Under their guest offer, anyone attending with a member is entitled to a free spa treatment. We both chose a 30-minute hot stone massage, but on arrival I was told there was only one hot stone set available, so I was downgraded to a Swedish massage. When I asked why we hadn’t been told in advance, the explanation was simply “stock issues,” the response felt defensive, which set the tone for the rest of the visit. The massage itself lasted just 13 minutes. Although mine was free under the guest offer, the member still had to pay £60 — which for such a short, rushed treatment feels extortionate. Staff later claimed that a “30-minute” treatment only includes 20 minutes hands-on and that even toilet time is deducted, yet none of this applies to the 10 minutes spent sitting in the room for ‘relaxation’. The whole experience felt poor value and poorly communicated. When we raised our concerns, staff were defensive, no manager was available, and the only gesture offered was a guest gym pass. Before booking I had read some of the other negative reviews, and sadly my experience matched them. I would not recommend this spa to anyone.

Booked a spa day with cream tea from a red letter days voucher for 6 of us. Had contacted them several times and was told to let them know about food on the day. When we arrived early they were very busy. Took a while to check in and give all the details and get our accessories for the day, so we ended up being a few mins late for our appointments, yet we were there 45mins before our time. Staff were polite and friendly and treatments were lovely. But when we went to arrange the cream tea we were told there was no kitchen staff today so no scones available. Everyone was helping from other departments which then explained why they were busy and took so long. Staff were very apologetic and super friendly so i can't fault them. Talking to a couple of regulars we met they said they were not surprised as there's always issues. With all the communication back and forth, someone should have informed us so we had the chance to rearrange. Sadly won't go back there for a day trip, will try another spa next time.
