Erratic opening times. This place never opens on time! Sometimes 10 am sometimes later 11am Very frustrating when you want to buy something before you start work Very badly managed or run as it seems to be a regular thing, not sure why. Maybe change your opening times from 9 to 12

Incredibly kind and helpful staff, helping me and my partner navigate which hiking boots were right for us (we’re quite new to this). Prices are all very fair and competitive too, with a great amount of stock to choose from.

I bought an Berghaus Adara 500 tent and matching porch earlier this year. After just 2 camping trips one of the sections of one of the tent poles split, leaving dangerous carbon fibre splinters. After 3 trips, all 3 poles had the same fault, along with on of the poles from the porch. Blacks response was to tell me to buy replacement poles when this was clearly a manufacturing fault. To compound this disdain, they sent me a link what the said where the correct poles, but they're the wrong size and design. I made a complaint after that shoddy advice and 2 weeks after that, I've still not heard back from them. Berghaus customer care won't help as all the service for tents comes from Blacks.
