Really enjoyed my first taste of Ethiopian food (and beer) - really tasty, especially the lamb.
The owner is so, so sweet. When you eat here, you feel like you’re being welcomed into somebody’s home. The ambience was beautiful and relaxing, and we loved the selection of cultural music. This was our first time trying Ethiopian food, and it certainly won’t be the last! The combination of flavors was insane, the dishes were seriously incredible!!
I travelled a long way to Zeret to try Ethiopian food after seeing all the amazing reviews, and I’m so glad I did—it was absolutely worth it. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The lovely lady who served us took the time to explain each dish and even showed us the best way to enjoy them, which made the experience even more special. We started with the Katenga bread, a perfect appetizer with just the right hint of spice, paired beautifully with the complimentary tea. As a South Indian, I found the injera surprisingly familiar—its texture and tang reminded me of dosa, and I loved how well all the dishes balanced and complemented the sourness of the bread. I never thought I’d appreciate lentils this much, but they were truly delicious. Zeret exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be going back. Highly recommended!
